We can now offer a channel logging service. If activated, this service joins your channel using the descriptive nickname "ChanLog", and will start logging the channel activity. The log is updated in real time, and will only hold public conversations. Private messages (pm) cannot, and will not be logged.

If "ChanLog" is inside a channel, every user entering the channel will also receive a message stating that the channel is being logged.

Channel owners have the option to make the log visible to everyone over the web, or have it shielded by a username/password. Common uses for having such bot in a channel:

• Generic moderation purposes
• The channel entertains kids, and needs to be supervised more strongly
• Website owners wanting to make conversations public
• The channel hosts meetings that require logging

The bot creates a new log every day, and old logs can be viewed indefinately. Logging can only be requested by the owner of the channel it will be in.

Due to the additional load this specific service adds to our server, we have to ask a small monthly fee of $1, 50 for this if paid through paypal on a monthly basis, or $12 if paid for a full year in advance.
